Bridge

Organiser Geoff Isherwood – 079 762 59000

The Club runs a popular Bridge League nearly every Thursday during the winter. At present over 30 members take part in very friendly, but competitive Bridge.
Each individual is awarded a handicap at the start of the season based on past performance and/or level of playing ability and this is reviewed once during the season.
We play Duplicate Bridge starting at 6.45 p.m. and are usually able to play 22 Boards before finishing at about 10.00 p.m.
Gross and Net scores are recorded for each week and prizes are awarded at the end of the season for the pairs with the highest points scored in both categories. Only the best 12 scores of each pair through the season count for the league.
As there are over 20 opportunities to play during the season, it is not essential to play every week to compete in the league.
New players, individuals or pairs, are always very welcome and Social Membership of the Club is available at modest cost.
Anyone
interested should contact the organiser for more details.

Only four and a half tables this week, I think the poor weather has encouraged some players to find sunnier climes!
An excellent result for the Eastwoods, top of both Gross and Nett scores, very well done to them, John Wilson is helping Tommy in Geoff's absence and is not doing too badly! Congratulations to Wini & Jilly, second this week in the nett scores!
Regretfully there is still a lack of  accuracy in the scoring on some of the trevellers, please make sure that someone checks the score after it has been entered, many thanks.
pp Geoff,
John
